Canak: We will not allow foreigners to buy our land

RUSKI KRSTUR - The League of Social Democrats of Vojvodina (LSV) is against the sale of arable land to foreigners since new land cannot be generated, LSV leader Nenad Canak has said.

At the party's pre-election rally, Canak said in Ruski Krstur on Sunday evening that the LSV will stand in the way of those who want to sell the little that is left in Vojvodina.

“It was not enough that they sold oil, hot springs and the sky above our heads,” Canak said and accused the outgoing government in Belgrade of wanting to steal Vojvodina's arable land and sell it to Arabs so that they could set up a chip plant in Belgrade in return.

This is simply out of question, the LSV leader said, stressing that for the reason Vojvodina needs to have its people in the Serbian parliament who would fight for its rights and constitutional changes.

The LSV will stand the parliamentary elections together with the New Democratic Party led by Boris Tadic and Together for Serbia led by Dusan Petrovic.
