Coalition centred on NDS submits list
BELGRADE - The coalition gathered around the New Democratic Party (NDS) headed by Boris Tadic submitted to the Republic Electoral Commission (RIK) the list of MP candidates for the early parliamentary elections scheduled for March 16.
As the first candidate on the list, Tadic told reporters that people in the coalition are willing to take over the responsibility for Serbia's development once more and do their job in the same way they had done in the past.
The list gathered around NDS wishes to motivate citizens to vote in the elections because, as Tadic said, the list comprises individuals with extensive experience in the government and other state positions.
Upon submission of the list, Tadic said that Serbia's biggest problem lies in unemployment and poverty, primarily among the young, and that this is the reason why economy will be in the focus of the list's electoral campaign.
More or less, there is a national consensus on European integration in Serbia nowadays but a social agreement on forthcoming reforms needs to be prepared as well, Tadic said.
Leader of the League of Social Democrats of Vojvodina Nenad Canak said that he is proud that the list is the result of a principled unification of parties which is a rarity in Serbia today.
Leader of Together for Serbia Dusan Petrovic said that the coalition will present a clear plan for Serbia's development and instil fresh energy.
