Australian Satellites Spot Possible Airplane Remains
Australian satellites have detected objects that may be part of the missing Malaysia Air jetliner.
Two objects of considerable size, one as large as 24 meters, have been spotted in the southern Indian Ocean, off the western coast of Perth, Euronews reveals.
“The images were captured by satellite, they may not be related to the aircraft. Further images are expected after commercial satellites were redirected to take high resolution images of the areas of interest. These will be provided in due course”, John Young of the Australian Maritime Safety Authority commented.
Four search aircraft and two ships have been deployed to the area where the objects were spotted.
The Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 disappeared nearly 2 weeks ago on route to Beijing from Kuala Lumpur, with 239 people on board. The search operation involves 26 countries.
