Cooperation between Serbia and Palestine should improve
BELGRADE - Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic met with Palestinian Ambassador Mohammed Nabhan on Monday and stressed that the relations between the two countries were improving and that particular focus should be put on economy and investments in the future.
Unfortunately, Serbia's export to Palestine is a lot lower than before and it is mostly wood for furniture and food, while fruit and vegetables are the main import items, especially in winter, Nikolic stated.
He underscored that there would be efforts to improve cooperation, especially in joint investments.
Nabhan emphasises that the similarities in the two nations' fates and mentalities are a quality that should be fostered.
There is room for better economic cooperation, the Palestinian official says, adding that his country is trying to get investors from Arab countries that are rich in oil to Serbia.
Palestinian investors are interested in the pharmaceutical and processing industries, he noted.
The two discussed the approaching visit to Serbia by Palestine's President Mahmoud Abbas and other topics of mutual interest, the press office of the Serbian president said in a release.
