2014EP PSD-UNPR-PC gets more than 40 percent in European Parliament elections (exit polls)

The electoral alliance of the Social Democrat Party (PSD), National Union for Romania's Progress (UNPR) and Conservative Party (PC) got more than 40 percent of the votes in the European Parliament elections, according to several exit polls released after the voting on Sunday.

CURS Avangarde's exit poll published by the national TV station TVR gives PSD-UNPR-PC 41.01 percent, National Liberal Party (PNL) 14.92 percent, and Democratic Liberal Party (PDL) 11.82 percent.

Next came the Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania (UDMR) with 7.1 percent and People's Movement Party (PMP) with 6.70 percent.

Independent candidate Mircea Diaconu is credited with 5.91 percent.

The People's Party — Dan Diaconescu (PP-DD) got 3.45 percent, the Greater Romania Party (PRM) 2.55 percent, and the Civic Force (FC) 2.11 percent.

The figures produced by Operations Research and broadcasted by Antena 3 TV station are 42.4 percent for PSD-UNPR-PC, 13.3 percent for PNL, and 11.5 for PDL.

In this exit poll, PMP has 6.3 percent and Diaconu 4.3 percent.

Similar results from CSCI polling institute were reported by Romania TV: PSD-UNPR-PC 43 percent, PNL — 14 percent, PDL — 12 percent, PMP — 7 percent, UDMR — 6 percent, and Diaconu — 4 percent.

IRES's results were published by Digi24 TV, with 41 percent for PSD-UNPR-PC, 14 percent for PNL, and 10 percent for PDL.

IRES gives UDMR 7 percent, PMP — 6 percent, and Diaconu — 5 percent; it also mentions PP-DD — 4 percent, and FC — 3 percent, below the 5 percent electoral threshold. AGERPRES
