Romania to End Scam Over Jailbird Authors
Romania's Justice Minister, Raluca Pruna, on Thursday said the country will scrap the article that cuts convicts' jail sentences by 30 days for every "scientific work" that they publish.
The move is aimed at putting an end to the sudden and unexpected literary boom in the country's prisons.

Romania to Change Law On Jailbirds' Books
A group of 15 Romanian senators has initiated a bill aimed at amending the controversial law that allows prisoners who publish books to have their jail terms cut.
"Many politicians, businessmen and ex-football players only discovered their literary skills after they were jailed for corruption and have benefited from loopholes in the law ... this must end," MP Valeriu Todirascu said.

Parliament approves filling eight vacancies in Administration Council of the SRR
The deputies and senators of Romania's Parliament have approved on Saturday, in joint sitting, the filling of eight vacancies in the Administration Council of the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Corporation (SRR).
381 MPs voted in favor of the candidate proposals while 22 MPs voted against, out of a total of 403 valid votes expressed.
