Pajtic: DS has majority in Vojvodina

The President of Vojvodina Government and the DS leader Bojan Pajtic says for the Blic that he has majority in the province and that he believes the DS partners, the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians (SVM) and the League of the Social-Democrats of Vojvodia (LSV).

Pajtic says that the DS has been traditionally in coalition with the SVM and LSV at the level of the province for 18 years already. He further says that at the latest session of Vojvodina Parliament the LSV was creating majority with the opposition deputies only for the purpose of changing of the election system and not bringing the SNS in power in the province, ‘the party that is dragging Serbia backwards every day’.

As regards the LSV initiative over redefinition of the political program and definition of goals that Vojvodina administration shall carry out in the following two years, Pajtic said that ‘the DS has talked about it with the representatives of the LSV, SVM and New Democratic Party (NDS)’.

I am not acting against the Government

The LSV leader Nenad Canak has rejected claims that by initiating new majority for the change of election law, he is destroying the coalition and power in Vojvodina.
‘Vojvodina Prime Minister Bojan Pajtic is acting against his own self’, Canak said.

In the meantime Istvan Pastor, President of Vojvodina Parliament and the SVM, presented his opinion that Vojvodina needs a government of national unity and that all parliamentary parties should be offered to join it.
