Vulin meets UNICEF Serbia Representative

BELGRADE - Serbian Minister of Labor, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Aleksandar Vulin conferred with UNICEF Serbia Representative Michel Saint-Lot in Belgrade on Wednesday on the Ministry's child care improvement plan and further cooperation with this international organization.

Michel Saint-Lot noted that excellent cooperation is established between the institutions of the Serbian government and UNICEF, and underlined the Ministry of Labor as its closest partner, the Ministry released.

Vulin thanked UNICEF for its quick response and aid to the population affected by the recent floods, and Saint-Lot commended the government's timely rescue efforts, states the release.

The meeting also addressed the Ministry's further plans aimed at promotion of children's rights, social care, the process of deinstitutionalization, promotion of community services for children with developmental disabilities, and family support in Serbia.

The Ministry of Labor and the Ministry of Justice will be working together with UNICEF in the coming period on the implementation of a project aimed at promotion of social care and judicial system in the best interest of the child. The project will be funded by the European Union through the IPA 2013 program, the release states.
