NTUA students extend sit-in until Tuesday

Students at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) have vowed to extend a sit-in in protest at a troika-mandated mobility scheme for administrative staff until Tuesday.

The sit-in, now in its second week, is threatening to derail the summer semester. Protests have also left the administrative services of Athens University in disarray.

Administrative staff across the country’s university institutions will hold a teleconference tomorrow to decide their next steps.

However, representatives of NTUA staff attending a student meeting on Tuesday said they “will not lay down their guns” before every single university employee has been rehired.
