Government introduces pilot program for revised unemployment benefits

The Ministry of National Economy and Finance, in collaboration with the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, announced a new unemployment benefit system, which will be introduced on a pilot basis. This revised system replaces the current flat-rate benefit, which provides a fixed amount for a specific period regardless of salary history or years of employment.

The new structure was developed following a study by the Public Employment Service in partnership with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) under the Directorate-General for Structural Reform Support.
