OSCE representative visits Belgrade

BELGRADE - Director of the Serbian government's Human and Minority Rights Office Suzana Paunovic met on Tuesday with the representative of OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities William Romans to discuss matters related to the position and role of national minority councils.

Paunovic informed Romans about the Office's activities aimed at protection of national minority rights in Serbia and its role in amending the Law on national councils of national minorities, the Office stated in a release.

During his visit to Belgrade, the representative of OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities had a series of meetings with the officials of state bodies, public institutions and other relevant authorities in connection with the issues related to the rights of national minorities in Serbia, states the release.
