University of Pristina in Kosovska Mitrovica marks its Day

KOSOVSKA MITROVICA - A celebration was held at the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Kosovska Mitrovica on Friday to mark the Day of the Pristina University, which is temporarily seated in this city.

Srecko Milacic, rector of the Pristina University, said at the ceremony that the University has always been a symbol of survival and the foundation of a nation.
"Whenever you are talking about a nation and its statehood, the university is the first institution, aside from the church, which summarizes all the energy and values ??that make it possible to overcome all troubles and survive in the territory of Kosovo-Metohija," said Milacic.

Jovan Bazic, assistant to the minister of education, science and technological development of the Republic of Serbia, said that the Pristina University is improving its performance in terms of education and scientific-research development.
"It is very important, and we have to repeat that here today, that the University of Pristina with a temporary headquarters in Kosovska Mitrovica remains part of the educational system of the Republic of Serbia", Bazic said, adding that they will continue to develop cooperation with all the universities in Serbia, region and Europe.

Vladimir Bumbasevic, rector of the Belgrade University and president of the Conference of Universities of Serbia, said that the University of Pristina can, in the future as well, count on the assistance and support of not only the Belgrade University but also other universities in Nis, Kragujevac, Novi Sad.
