Jovanovski loses to Smitkov after strenuous match

LONDON - Serbian female tennis player Bojana Jovanovski failed to qualify for the Wimbledon WTA fourth round as she was defeated by Tereza Smitkova of the Czech Republic in the third round match on Friday, 4-6, 7-6 (7-5), 10-8.

In the fight for the quarterfinal, Smitkova will play against Lucie Safarova of the Czech Republic who beat Slovakia's Dominika Cibulkova in the third round match, 6-4 6-2.
