Krunic out of Chinese Taipei tournament
TAIPEI - Serbia's Aleksandra Krunic has ended her campaign at the WTA tournament in Chinese Taipei after losing 6-3, 6-4 to Lucie Safarova of the Czech Republic in the opening round on Tuesday.
Wild card Safarova will next face Latvian Anastasia Sevastova.

Bulgaria's Pironkova Makes It into Eastbourne 1/8-Finals
Bulgaria's top female tennis player Tsvetana Pironkova defeated on Tuesday Australian Samantha Stosur at the Eastbourne International.
Pironkova secured a swift victory over Stosur 7:5, 7:6 (7:0).
This is her first-ever success against Stosur which adds 55 points for her in the ATP ranking.
Bulgaria's Tsvetana Pironkova Ousted from Second Round in Madrid
Bulgaria's top female tennis player Tsvetana Pironkova was defeated in the second round of the Mutua Madrid Open on Monday.
Pironkova was defeated with 3;6, 1:6 by Lucie Safarova in a match, which lasted 73 minutes, daily Dnevnik reports.
The Bulgarian suffered a heavy defeat and could not offer a considerable resistance to Safarova throughout the match.

DUBAI - Serbia's Ana Ivanovic has failed to reach the quarter-finals of the Dubai WTA tournament after losing 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 to Karolina Pliskova of the Czech Republic in the third round on Wednesday.
In a bid to secure a semi-final spot, Pliskova will take on compatriot Lucie Safarova, who beat Venus Williams of the United States 6-4, 6-2.

Ivanovic powers into semifinals in Tokyo
TOKYO - Serbian No. 1 Ana Ivanovic advanced to the semifinals of the WTA tournament in Tokyo, after defeating Lucie Safarova of the Czech Republic in straight sets (6-3, 6-2) on Friday.
Safarova could not keep up with the third-seeded Ivanovic, who played at a consistent level throughout the match.

Ana Ivanovic reaches quarterfinals in Tokyo
TOKYO - Serbia's top-ranked female tennis player Ana Ivanovic advanced to the quarterfinals of the Toray Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo after beating Victoria Azarenka of Belarus 6-3, 6-4 on Wednesday.
Ivanovic took a 3-0 lead in both sets, and broke her opponent's serve twice before winning the second set.

Ivanovic loses to Safarova
PARIS - Serbia's Ana Ivanovic on Saturday failed to reach the fourth round of the Roland Garros tennis tournament by losing to Lucie Safarova of the Czech Republic 6-3, 6-3.
Ivanovic was no match for in-form Safarova, who dominated both sets with power and accuracy.
