Vucic visits Berlin

BERLIN - Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic will on Monday pay a one-day visit to Germany, where he will attend a panel discussion on Serbia's path towards the European Union, organised by the Serbia-Germany Forum and the German Foreign Policy Council.

The event will be opened by German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier and the Serbian prime minister, the Serbian government's press office announced on Sunday.

At the panel discussion, Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Kori Udovicki - who is also minister of state administration and local self-government - and Minister of Economy Dusan Vujovic will speak about comprehensive structural reforms in Serbia.

The event will also be addressed by Bodo Hombach, a former chief of staff of the German chancellor's office, and Uwe Bergheim, a member of the board of directors at Falke.

Prime Minister Vucic and the members of the Serbian delegation - Deputy Prime Minister Kori Udovicki, Minister of Economy Dusan Vujovic and the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia Zeljko Sertic - will speak to German investors.

Vucic will also meet with former German chancellor Gerhard Schroeder, who recently visited Belgrade to attend the inauguration of the Serbia-Germany Forum as a guest of honour.

Prime Minister Vucic will also speak to Gunther Krichbaum, the chairman of the Bundestag's Committee on the Affairs of the European Union, the office said in a statement.

The Serbia-Germany Forum was established in Belgrade last April, and the Berlin panel will be the first time it is presented in Germany.
