Romanian troops to parade under Paris Arch of Triumph on French National Day

A detachment of the Romanian Army will parade under the Arch of Triumph in Paris at the traditional parade held on the Champs-Elysees Avenue on July 14, the National Day of France, the Press Office of the National Defence Ministry (MApN) reports in a release sent to AGERPRES on Wednesday.

According to this source, Romanian Defence Minister Mircea Dusa approved the participation in this event of a detachment made up of troops of the 30th Guard Regiment "Mihai Viteazul" and students of the "Nicolae Balcescu" Land Force Academy, "Henri Coanda" Air Force Academy, and "Mircea cel Batran" Naval Academy.

The Romanian subunit commanded by Major Marius Dinita has already taken part in two rehearsals on the Parisian boulevard alongside other participants in the parade, the release reads.

The same source notes the fact that in 2007 the Romanian troops participated for the first time in the traditional parade on the French National Day. In addition, a detachment of French soldiers took part on December 1, 2013 in the parade organized in Bucharest on Romania's National Day. AGERPRES
