PM Ponta congratulates Romanian pupils for results in International Olympiad in Informatics
Prime Minister Victor Ponta on Saturday congratulated the Romanian pupils, as well as the teachers who prepared them, for the results obtained in the International Olympiad in Informatics, organised in Taiwan.
"Congratulations to the Romanian pupils for the four medals obtained in International Olympiad in Informatics, organised in Taiwan! Also, congratulations to the teachers who prepared them for this competition! I would like to congratulate young man Rares Buhai, in particular, who has become the winner of most awards of all times in this Olympiad, on Romania's behalf!," the chief of Government said, in a message posted on Facebook.
Moreover, he voiced his hope that the young men who obtained these results could develop their career in Romania.
"I have all hope that the efforts Romania's Government makes in supporting the IT&C industry in our country, for turning Romania into a regional hub in the IT area, will convince these brilliant young men to develop their career in Romania," Ponta also said.
The Romanian pupils obtained four medals, one gold, two silver and one bronze medal, in the 26th edition of the International Olympiad in Informatics, organised in Taipei (Taiwan), in the period July 13-20, the National Education Ministry informs. Multiple international medal receiver, Rares Darius Buhai, pupil in the 11th grade at Liviu Rebreanu National College of Bistrita, added to his record another gold medal, same as in the previous two editions. Vlad Gavrila, who is currently studying in Cambridge, accompanied Romania's team as deputy leader.
