Romania Could See US Visa Requirements Lifted Next Year
Romanian citizens may be able to travel to the US without visas starting next year, according to the country's Foreign Minister, Luminița Odobescu. Speaking on Digi24 television, she noted that October will bring the first indication of the visa refusal rate, with positive signs so far. Efforts continue to ensure progress.

Romania Offers Moldova Financial Aid to Ease Gas Crisis
Romania's government on Wednesday approved a 100-million-euros financial support package for Moldova to help it deal with a looming energy crisis.
Romania's financial assistance comes at a difficult time for its neighbour, after Russian energy giant Gazprom warned it would stop supplying gas to Moldova if its Moldovagaz subsidiary does not pay outstanding debts within two days.
'Dracula's castle' offers tourists COVID shots
Visitors to Romania's forbidding Bran Castle, widely known as the inspiration for the lair of Dracula, are being jabbed with needles rather than vampiric fangs this weekend in a coronavirus vaccination drive.
"I came to visit the castle with my family and when I saw the poster I gathered up my courage and agreed to get the injection," said 39-year-old engineer Liviu Necula.

Romanian Muslims Cancel Grand Mosque Project
The Romanian Muftiyat, which represents Muslims in the country, has cancelled its project to build a showpiece mosque in the capital, saying the costs were too high.
The Muftiyat has filed a request to the Ministry of Culture to return the property assigned for the planned mosque to the Romanian government, Mufti Iusuf Murat said.
