Serbia, Russia bound together in future too

BELGRADE - Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic said on Friday in talks with a delegation of the Russian Federation that, just as Serbia and Russia have been bound together so far, continuous improvement in bilateral cooperation will ensure even closer ties in the future.

Nikolic talked with Konstantin Kosachev, head of the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation, and Valery Ryazanskiy, chairman of the Council of the Federation Committee on Social Policy.

Kosachev and Ryazanskiy informed Nikolic about the completion of works on the Russian necropolis in Belgrade, and thanked for the state administration's support in that endeavor.

Kosachev voiced the hope that, alongside other world leaders, the Serbian president will attend the marking of 70th anniversary of the victory over fascism in Moscow next year.

Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to come to Belgrade in October, at the invitation of President Nikolic, and take part in the marking of 70 years since the liberation of the Serbian capital in World War II, the president's press service stated.
