All leftover 18 grenades from WWII destroyed

SABAC - Members of the Interior Ministry's Emergency situation sector destroyed the 18 leftover artillery grenades from World War II in the village of Bela Reka near Sabac on Tuesday.

“Everything was completed without any difficulties and the team returned to Belgrade,” head of the local Emergency situation sector Aleksandar Stojkovic told Tanjug.

A total of 18 artillery grenades of various calibres found on Monday were buried and are believed to have been part of the weaponry of a Chetnik brigade active in the Bela Reka area during World War II.

Special Emergency situation sector teams for non-exploded weapons and members of the Interior Ministry were deployed during the mine clearance activities in the village.
