Zimonjic and Nestor start off with victory

NEW YORK - Serbia's Nenad Zimonjic and Canada's Daniel Nestor beat Collin Flemming and Ross Hutchins from the UK 6-4 6-3 at the US Open on Wednesday and went through to the 2nd round.

Their opponents in the next match will be the winners of the match between Columbia's Nicolas Barientos and Santiago Hiraldo on one side and Andrey Golubyev from Kazakhstan and Denis Istomin from Uzbekistan on the other.

Ana Ivanovic and Aleksandra Krunic reached the 2nd round of the women's singles category earlier.

Ivanovic defeated US player Alison Riske 6-3 6-0, while Krunic ousted Poland's Katarzyna Piter 6-4 6-1.

Ivanovic will face Cvetana Pironkova from Bulgaria next, while Krunic will go up against Madison Keys from the US.
