Western Balkans conference in Berlin on Thursday
BERLIN - A conference focusing on the Western Balkans will be held in Berlin on Thursday under German Chancellor Angela Merkel's patronage and it will include the prime ministers, foreign ministers and ministers of economy from the region.
The Serbian delegation will be led by Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, accompanied by Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic and Minister of Finance Dusan Vujovic.
Vucic said he would present a detailed five-point plan at the conference , which will include a proposition for cooperation in important infrastructure projects and improvement of the Central European Free Trade Agreement.
A meeting between the Western Balkan prime ministers and President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso will be heal at Merkel's headquarters.
EU Commissioner for Enlargement Stefan Fuele will attend a meeting of foreign ministers, while Commissioner for Energy Guenther Oettinger will meet with the ministers of economy.
Dacic will speak about economic management and EU integration at the meeting of foreign ministers, while Vujovic will participate in two panel discussions on energy, technology, infrastructure, employment, development of small and medium companies and investments.
Vucic arrived in Berlin a day before the conference and met with Germany's Minister of Economic Cooperation and Development Gerd Mueller.
They discussed grants and soft loans that Germany plans to give to Serbia by the end of this year, which total EUR 140 million, as well as cooperation in energy, utilities and agriculture.
