Jankovic loses in Tokyo round two

TOKYO - Serbian No. 2 Jelena Jankovic was ousted in the second round of singles at the WTA tournament in Tokyo by Garbine Muguruza of Spain 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 on Thursday.

The fourth-seeded Jankovic failed to justify the role of favorite against the talented 20-year-old.

In the doubles competition, Jankovic and Arantxa Parra Santonja of Spain will take on Cara Black (Zimbabwe) and Sania Mirza (India) in the semifinals.
