Economy minister confers with Japanese businessmen

BELGRADE - Serbian Economy Minister Zeljko Sertic met on Wednesday with the representatives of Japan Business Federation 'Keidanren' and discussed the promotion of Serbian-Japanese economic cooperation.

Sertic informed the executives of major Japan-based companies about investment opportunities in Serbia and invited them to take part in the privatization of Serbian enterprises, the Ministry of Economy said in a release.

Sertic thanked his guests on their interest in Serbian economy and stressed that Japan is an example of how strong an economy can be built through persistent and methodical work.

Japanese executives underlined their readiness to invest in Serbia, expressing particular interest in the food, mechanical and automotive industry, as well as the insurance sector.
