DefMin Dusa: Romania to join coalition against Islamic State, decide means within days
National Defence Minister Mircea Dusa said that Romania will join the coalition against the Islamic State alongside all the states; a decision on the concrete support from the country is to be taken within days, he mentioned on Friday.
'As already mentioned by the President, the prime minister and myself on every occasion, we stand by our NATO partners, we stand by our European Union partners, and Romania, like all the states in the world, is joining the coalition against the Islamic State. Of course, we will establish at governmental level, depending on the talks we're already having with our partners, what is the content of Romania's support. We already detailed some points regarding Romania's capabilities in support of the fight of the international coalition against the Islamic state. (...) Within the authorized state institutions, we will decide on it over the next days; this discussion is already in progress with our partners. Of course, the first body authorized by law, the first institution, is the CSAT [Supreme Council for Country's Defence],' Dusa stated.
The defence minister mentioned that Romania would provide both humanitarian aid and a series of 'capabilities' offered to the international forces to oppose and fight the Islamic State.AGERPRES
