Ponta: National investment first recorded at Margineni
Prime Minister Victor Ponta said at Margineni, the eastern Bacau county on Monday that the project on the public lighting by using sun energy to be implemented in the rural town is a first for Romania that 'can stimulate the development of an area of using the non-conventionally made electric power, still not tackled in Romania'.
'We record a national first in investments at Margineni. I believe in this project initiated by the authorities of Margineni rural town, the success of which may enable its multiplication, so that the people in the Romanian rural towns should benefit from a renewable electric power resource in a profitable manner', the prime minister told the rural locals attending the launch of the project.
The prime minister handed the local authorities in the contract on the implementation of the project called Public Lighting by Using Sun Energy conducted via the Operational Sectorial Programme on the Increase of Economic Competitiveness worth more than 3,200,000 euros, 18 percent of which to be the Government's contribution and 2 percent provided by Margineni local authorities.
Ponta also handed in Margineni mayor Marcelin Solot the contract on the upgrading of several rural town roads conducted via the National Local Development Programme worth some one million euros.
The prime minister paid a visit to Bacau county together with Vice Prime Ministers Liviu Dragnea and Daniel Constantin to look into the phase in the implementation of several investment projects and programmes conducted in the county and funded by EU funds of the National Local Development Programme.AGERPRES
