SSSS and UGS Independence become ETUC members

BELGRADE - The Alliance of Independent Unions of Serbia (SSSS) and the United Branch Trade Unions (UGS) Independence became members of the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC), SSSS President Ljubisav Orbovic and UGS Independence President Branislav Canak released on Friday.

The ETUC membership was granted to SSSS and UGS Independence two days ago and the membership will make room for better organisation and greater influence on the decisions made in Brussels which cover the sectors of labour and employment, Orbovic and Canak said during the news conference.

Orbovic recalled that ETUC members gather trade unions from EU member countries and that the two Serbian trade unions would be able to organise much better with the help of the European centre.

According to Canak, ETUC membership puts an end to the issue of SSSS and UGS Independence prominence.
