Nikolic meets with Chinese delegation

BELGRADE - Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic held talks with a delegation of China's Zhejiang Province in Belgrade Tuesday, discussing ways to improve economic cooperation between the two countries.

Qian Jianmin, Communist Party secretary in the city of Shaoxing, pointed out that the Chinese were interested in investing in textile and food companies in Serbia, as those companies had a tradition and great potential as well as professional staff.

Nikolic congratulated Qian Jianmin on the purchase of Subotica-based electric motors producer Sever, adding that he expected the privatization to ensure job creation and increased production.

The Serbian president stressed that China was one of Serbia's most important partners and called on the members of the delegation to familiarize themselves with companies in Serbia, as they can be a basis for further investments and a prospect for expanding cooperation between the two countries.
