Vučić opens investment conference in London
LONDON -- Aleksandar Vučić opened on Wednesday an investment conference in London, stressing that the government embarked on reforms with a clear objective.
It is to make Serbia "the most attractive investment destination in the region," the prime minister said.
"Our goal is to draw more foreign investors, including more investors from Great Britain," Vučić said at the Serbia Investment Day conference organized by the British-Serbian Chamber of Commerce.
Vučić spoke about the reform measures being implemented by the Serbian government, and the laws adopted with an aim to improve the investment climate in the country.
"This government, which enjoys the strongest support in the history of democracy in Serbia, is determined to improve the country's business climate, said Vučić. Political and macroeconomic stability, as the basic precondition for drawing foreign investors and ensuring the security of their capital, has been achieved. Economic reforms, economic growth and reduction in unemployment are the priorities of this government," the prime minister said.
Serbian Finance Minister Dušan Vujović also addressed the participants, noting that Serbia is at the beginning of a long journey and that now is the time to make up for what has been lost over the past two decades.
The Serbian government will provide a safe business environment. We have been participants in the financial market since 2011 and now we must prove to investors that they made a good choice and that they should invest more, said Vujović.
