Tennis: Tecau and Rojer, qualified for quarterfinals of Paris-Bercy tournament
The pair formed by Romanian tennisman Horia Tecau and Dutch player Jean-Julien Rojer has qualified, on Wednesday evening, in the quarter finals of the doubles' event of the Paris-Bercy tournament (ATP World Tour Masters 1000), securing also their presence in the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals in London.
Tecau and Rojer, seeded eighth in the 2,884,675-euro tournament, have won by 7-6 (3), 3-6, 10-5 against pair formed by Polish player Lukasz Kubot and Swede player Robert Lindstedt, the former partner of the Romanian player.
The Romanian-Dutch pair has ensured for itself a check worth 21,430 euro and 180 ATP points thanks to this success and as such, have qualified for the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals in London, where they will participate together with the best eight doubles' teams of the year. In the Race to London rankings, Tecau and Rojer had occupied the fifth spot before the competition in the French capital.
Tecau and Rojer will square off against team made of American player Eric Butorac and South African player Raven Klaasen.
Horia will be at this third participation in the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals, after in 2011 and 2012 he managed to qualify for the tournament together with Robert Lindstedt. Rojer was also twice previously qualified for the tournament, together with Pakistani player Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi, in 2012 and 2013. AGERPRES
