Industrial production down by 5.7 %, foreign trade up 5.4 %

BELGRADE - The industrial production in the Republic of Serbia decreased by 5.7 percent in the period January - September 2014 compared to the same period in 2013, while only in September 2014 it went down by 16 percent compared to September 2013, the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia released in a statement.

The greatest influence on industrial production fall in September 2014 came from: generation of electricity, manufacture of refined petroleum products, mining of coal, manufacture of chemicals and chemical products and manufacture of metal products except machinery.

In September 2014, the downward trend was observed in the section of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply - fall of 38.9 percent, the section of mining and quarrying - fall of 29.6 percent and the section of manufacturing - fall of 8.8 percent, compared to the same period in 2013.

Observed as divided by sections, in September 2014 compared to the same month 2013, the trends were noted as follows: energy, fall by 48.8 percent, intermediate products, energy excluded, by 6.4 percent and durable consumer goods, by 4.2 percent.

The industrial production volume in September 2014, compared to September 2013, expressed growth in the production of non - durable consumer goods, by 0.1 percent and capital goods, by 3.4 percent.

The industrial production volume in September 2014, compared to September 2013, expressed the following trends: fall in 19 divisions that in the structure of industrial production participate with 64 percent, and growth in 10 divisions that in the structure of industrial production participate with 36 percent.
