Central Electoral Bureau: 52.31 percent voter turnout by 9pm

The nationwide voter turnout in today's presidential election was 52.31 percent by 9pm, the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC) has announced.

Turnout was 51.64 percent in the urban areas and 53.21 percent in the rural areas; in Bucharest, 54.29 percent of the registered voters have cast their ballots.
