A federal court ruling Friday blocked the removal from Virginia’s voter rolls of people who have not proven their citizenship, on the grounds that federal law prohibits excluding large numbers of voters in the 90 days before an election.

In the Bulgarian village of Belo Pole, which has a population of just 600, there are officially 14,392 registered voters. This anomaly has raised concerns about the fairness of the election process, despite government assurances.

Albanians in the southwestern town of Himare are to vote Sunday for a new mayor after their previous choice, a member of the country's ethnic Greek minority, was stripped of his title, convicted and imprisoned on vote-buying charges in what he and neighboring Greece have claimed was a politically motivated case.

Voters are called to the ballot box on Sunday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. to elect 21 candidates from 31 parties who will represent Greece in the European Parliament until 2029.

Voters who opted for postal voting but either did not send their vote or sent it late can vote in person after 11 a.m. at their registered polling station.

The deadline for registration on the postal voting platform expired at midnight on Monday, with the final number of registrants surpassing 200,000 from Greece and 127 other countries.

Starting today, Bulgarian voters have access to a convenient online tool to verify their designated polling station and voting location for the upcoming elections on June 9, 2024, encompassing both the European Parliament and the National Assembly races.

The online platform for registration in the electoral roll for postal voting was launched on Monday.

The initiative aims to streamline the process for Greek citizens to exercise their voting rights in the European Parliament elections and national referendums.

ODIHR positively evaluated voting in 93% of observed polling stations.

2. Freedoms of expression and assembly were generally respected in the campaign.
3. The legal framework provides an adequate basis for conducting democratic elections.

On Thursday at midnight, the election silence comes into force and ends on Sunday at 20:00 with the closing of the polling stations.
On Sunday, December 17, 6,500,165 registered voters will be able to exercise their right to vote at one of a total of 8,273 polling stations.

Turnout in Bulgaria's 29 October local elections was 44.94, in line with preliminary forecasts by sociologists. More than 2 713 000 voters went to the polls out of a total of just over 6 038 000 on the electoral rolls. This can be seen from the data published on the Central Election Commission website.
