Turnout in Bulgaria's 29 October Local Elections was 44.94

Turnout in Bulgaria's 29 October local elections was 44.94, in line with preliminary forecasts by sociologists. More than 2 713 000 voters went to the polls out of a total of just over 6 038 000 on the electoral rolls. This can be seen from the data published on the Central Election Commission website.

Provisional voter turnout stands at 31.52%

A total of 31.52 percent of registered voters have participated in Greece's legislative elections so far, according to Michalis Stavrianoudakis, the Interior Ministry's general secretary.

This figure is based on the data received from judicial representatives at 16,520 polling stations, which accounts for 77 percent of the total polling stations across the country.

High turnout prompts extra ballot boxes abroad

The number of expatriate votes cast in Türkiye's upcoming elections has reached nearly 1.2 million, prompting the government to set up additional ballot boxes abroad.

More than 3.4 million Turkish citizens living abroad are eligible to vote for the presidential and parliamentary elections scheduled for May 14 at home, around 277,000 of whom are first-time voters.

One last effort

The damage was done when, in order to serve unacknowledged expediencies, political parties rejected the simple solution of allowing the postal vote in the elections.

The criteria established for registered voters living abroad proved in practice that they discouraged the exercise of the right remotely.
