Dacic, Wang for strengthening of Serbia-China partnership

BELGRADE - Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic conferred on Friday with Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister Wang Chao, who expressed readiness for new concrete initiatives in the political and economic arena aimed at comprehensive strengthening of the two countries' partnership.

Wang, who is leading the Chinese delegation to a meeting of the national coordinators for the China- Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) cooperation mechanism, underlined that China is attaching great importance to strengthening of cooperation with Serbia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs released in a statement.

The two officials pointed to the importance of fostering of the bilateral cooperation within the mechanism of cooperation between China and 16 CEE countries and realization of concrete joint project in the fields of infrastructure and energy, particularly the project of modernization of the Belgrade-Budapest rail line.

Minister Dacic expressed satisfaction with the regular practice of political consultations between the two countries, adding that he expects that they will provide a new impetus to further development of their comprehensive cooperation.

The two sides pointed to the importance of strengthening of the political dialogue based on strategic partnership and organization of visits at top levels.

The officials confirmed the assessment that the two countries' political relations are excellent, and that they are characterized by full mutual understanding, trust and mutual support in terms of all issues of vital interest for both parties.
