Polls show Ponta ahead of Iohannis in runoff election, 53.5-55 pct to 45-46.5 pct

Latest polls conducted and released by most of the pollsters show the candidate of the alliance of the Social Democratic Party (PSD), the National Union for Romania's Progress (UNPR) and the Conservative Party (PC) in the November 16 presidential runoff Victor Ponta to be the favourite to win the runoff against candidate of the Christian Liberal Alliance (ACL) Klaus Iohannis, as he garners 53.5 - 55 per cent of the vote to Iohannis' 45-46.5 per cent.

An INSCOP poll shows Ponta winning 53.5 per cent to Iohannis' 46.5 per cent.

A Sociopol poll released on November 9 shows the Left candidate Ponta voted by 55 per cent of Romanians and the Right candidate Iohannis by 45 per cent.

A poll released by IRES on November 10 shows Victor Ponta with a score of 54 per cent, and Iohannis with 46 per cent. AGERPRES
