BEC - partial results: Iohannis 55.79 pct, Ponta 44.20 pct

Christian Liberal Alliance's candidate Klaus Iohannis got 55.79 percent in the second round of the presidential elections on Sunday, while incumbent Prime Minister Victor Ponta, the candidate of the Social Democratic Party - National Union for Romania's Progress - Conservative Party alliance got 44.20 percent of the votes.

Klaus Iohannis obtained 2,155,128 votes, and Victor Ponta got 1,707,202 votes according to partial data released by the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC), that were collected from 6.215 polling stations, accounting for 32.97 percent of all polling places.

BEC will issue the next official release on partial results on Monday morning.
