Klaus Iohannis asks president Basescu to withdraw ambassadors from countries where Romanians were humiliated
The National Liberal Party (PNL) chair, Klaus Iohannis has asked incumbent president Traian Basescu on Monday to withdraw the ambassadors from the countries where the Romanian nationals were "humiliated" with reference to the way the voting process abroad took place.
"All ambassadors and consuls from those countries where Romanians were humiliated must be withdrawn. I cannot accept such situations in which my fellow citizens are treated with tear gas because they want to vote," said Iohannis in a press conference.
Christian Liberal Alliance's candidate Klaus Iohannis got 54.50 percent of the vote in the second round of the presidential elections on Sunday, while Prime Minister Victor Ponta, the candidate of the Social Democratic Party — National Union for Romania's Progress — Conservative Party alliance polled 45.49 percent, according to the data released by the Central Electoral Bureau at 11 a.m. on Monday after centralizing the reports from 18,673 polling stations, accounting for 99.07 percent of the total.AGERPRES
