Pre-teen delinquents assault veteran writer and journalist

BELGRADE -- Two brothers aged 10 and 11 have assaulted Serbia's well-known writer and television journalist Raša Popov.

The daily Blic writes that the 81-year-old was targeted by the pair that already have "more than 300 robbery and theft complaints filed against them."

Moreover, an elderly man died earlier this year after the brothers attacked, robbed, and battered him.

The new incident happened last month, according to the article, which does not specify the extent of Popov's injuries.

The daily said the children approached their victim asking for money, but attacked him dissatisfied with the amount he gave them.

The Center for Social Work in the Belgrade municipality of Rakovica is responsible for the two boys.
