Dacic in Denmark to promote bilateral relations
COPENHAGEN - Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic, who is paying a visit to Copenhagen on Monday at the invitation of his Danish counterpart Martin Lidegaard, said that the main goal of his visit is the development of bilateral relations.
Dacic and Lidegaard conferred on further improvement of good bilateral relations, intensification of economic cooperation, the process of negotiations between Serbia and the EU, and Serbia's OSCE presidency in 2015.
The main goal of my visit today is the development of our bilateral relations, bearing in mind the role that Denmark has in the international political arena, Dacic said.
Denmark has clearly demonstrated its unequivocal support, stressing that it wants to see Serbia in the European Union as soon as possible, Dacic said.
Dacic also met with Danish Parliament Speaker Mogens Lykketoft in Copenhagen on Monday.
Denmark is smaller than Serbia in terms of population size, but it has ten times higher GDP, moreover it is world number one in the fight against corruption and takes fifth place with regards to creating a good business environment for investment, Dacic said.
Next year, I expect an exchange of visits at a higher level, exchange of prime ministers' visits, and the arrival of my colleague - the minister of foreign affairs, in order to try to increase our trade, which now stands around 120 million euros, Dacic said.
There is especially a lot of room for cooperation in the field of agriculture and energy, he said.
