Minister of Interior, Gabriel Oprea, on Tuesday told a videoconference with the prefects that he decided, after consulting with Prime Minister Victor Ponta, to rethink the intervention procedures in emergency situations, in order to ensure a maximum efficiency of this system.

He specified that he already set things in motion for the reexamination of procedures of the Department for Emergency situations and all structures with responsibilities in such situations.

"Thus, we carried out an analysis on the category risk and their specifics in every county, while also considering the existent resources for an immediate intervention. All these data will lay the grounds for the elaboration of a unique conception of intervention of the integrated system of emergency situations that in the end we are going to present to the National Committee for Emergency Situations," the Minister of Interior announced.

Minister Gabriel Oprea also sent condolence to the mourning families after the helicopter crash in Constanta and voiced his belief that the investigation of the prosecutors will be able to clarify the causes of the tragic accident.

An helicopter belonging to SMURD (Mobile Emergency Service for Resuscitation and Extrication) with four people on board — two pilots from the General Aviation Inspectorate and two doctors from SMURD Constanta — fell on December 15 into the Siutghiol Lake. All members of the team on board died.

At the moment of the crash, the helicopter was in a flying mission, after it took a patient to the Constanta County Hospital. AGERPRES
