Josipovic: We will support Serbia on its EU path

ZAGREB - We will support Serbia on its EU path, but it needs to fulfil all the conditions Croatia fulfilled in the process, Croatian President and presidential candidate Ivo Josipovic said on Sunday.

There are no changes regarding the attitude of Croatia toward Serbia, the Croatian president told reporters after the voting, adding that Serbia is Croatia's neighbour and friendly country and has a number of open issues that need to be resolved.

Josipovic said that he will continue to support the EU path of Bosnia-Herzegovina (BiH) and act as its friend. Croatia will try to provide assistance in reaching the agreement on the internal organisation of the state and citizens' equality within BiH, he noted.

The second round of the presidential elections is taking place in Croatia on Sunday, and around 3.8 million voters will cast their ballots to decide whether current president Ivo Josipovic of the Social Democratic Party of Croatia would remain in office or would hand over the presidential title to Kolinda Grabar Kitarovic of the Croatian Democratic Union.
