'The County Council chairs and the mayors who are elected by the population do what they have to do, no longer act politically, they act in the administration. In the same way as with the president of the country, the president was elected, he is equitable to everyone. A certain mayor was elected, he is equitable to everyone', Oprescu told public television TVR.
He stressed the idea is that there must be balance. 'If not, one gets positions in the party, in the administration and what does one make first and foremost ? politics or administration?', the mayor asked.
Oprescu explained he does not have a majority to co-work with in the Bucharest Municipality General Council, but one 'based on circumstances'.
'I hope that after six years in which I have kept a balance, I might continue keeping this balance by explaining that we are dealing with Bucharest's projects', the mayor underscored. AGERPRES
