I welcome today's visit to Romania of the US Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs, Victoria Nuland, and her meetings with the President, the Prime Miniser and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, during which they approached such aspects related to the strengthening of the Strategic Partnership and the enhancement of economic cooperation between the two states. I have always said that our Strategic Partnership is very important for Romania and that we must continue to strengthen this Partnership by intensifying our bilateral contacts, both on a political and strategic level, and also on an economic and social level,' Ana Birchall said in a release to AGERPRES on Wednesday.

She maintains that the US regards Romania as a serious partner.

'The high-ranked US official's visit to Romania proves USA's attachment to the Strategic Partnership with our country. The United States sees in Romania a serious partner and the strengthening of the Strategic Partnership, through deepening our cooperation in the military field, but also in the economic field, emphasizes once again the important role played by Romania on regional and international level,' the High Representative of the Prime Minister said.
