Court of Accounts' Report: Romania's public debt reaches 44.1 pct of GDP, on Dec 31, 2014
Romania's public debt stood at 44.1 per cent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), 65.94 billion euros, on December 31, 2014, compared with the 54.38 billion euros recorded at end-2012, showed the Court of Accounts' Report on the management of the public debt over 2012-2014 by the Ministry of Public Finances (MFP), as published on Friday.

Inscop poll: 75.7pct of Romanians believe NATO membership protects against security threats
As many as 75.7 per cent of Romanians agree that NATO membership protects Romania against national security threats, while 45.9 per cent of them expect the US to be Romania's main ally in case of such threats, according to the findings of a recent Inscop poll released on Monday.

EU startup funding worth 25,000 euros per project for young entrepreneurs

Criminal investigation starts into Romanian Lottery over unauthorised gambling
Prosecutors with the Prosecution Office of the Bucharest Court of Appeal have ordered the start of a criminal investigation into the Romanian Lottery over unauthorised or unlicensed slot-machine gambling in 2006-2014 that involved 6,263 such machines and damage estimated at RON 463 million.

The martisor is a symbolical calendar, represented by a two-colour piece of string, which gathers the days, weeks and months of the year in two seasons, winter and summer, and is given as a gift on March 1, the day of Dochia, the millennia-old beginning of the agrarian year.
