Actor Dimitris Imellos dies aged 57
Actor Dimitris Imellos, known for his extensive career in theater as well as TV, most recently in the series "Sasmos," has passed away at the age of 57 after a long battle with cancer.
Imellos initially attended Law School but soon shifted his focus to theater. He trained at the Theatrical Workshop of Vassilis Diamantopoulos and later at the Drama School of Diomidis Fotiadis. He also pursued directing studies at the Russian Institute of Theater Arts (GITIS).
Imellos performed in productions of "Oedipus at Colonus," "Medea," "The Persians," "Erotokritos" and "Tartuffe." He was also a member of the Experimental Stage of the National Theater under the direction of Stathis Livathinos.
