Romania's current account deficit, down 40 pct in 2014 from 2013, to 696 million euros

The account deficit in Romania's balance of payments closed 2014 on 696 million euros, compared with 1,168 million euros in the same year-ago period, amid the widening of the services surplus (by 1,169 million euros) and the narrowing of the primary income balance deficit (by 242 million euros), according to data released on Friday by the National Bank of Romania (BNR).

CFR Calatori: 2 for 1 train tickets on Valentine's Day, Dragobete for sea, mountain destinations

CFR Calatori, Romania's national passenger railway carrier, is selling train tickets with a 50-per cent discount for journeys that start in Bucharest and end in Prahova Valley or Constanta, on Valentine's Day and Dragobete (traditional Romanian love celebration - February 24), CFR Calatori reported on Wednesday.

Romanian bonds yield first time below 2 pct, FinMin borrows 600 million lei

The Ministry of Public Finance (MFP) borrowed 600 million lei from commercial banks on Thursday, at an average yield of 1.99 percent, in a tender of 52-month Government bonds; it was the lowest yield ever obtained by the Romanian state for titles denominated in the national currency.

The Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI) does not opine on the statements of some suspects under criminal prosecution, so much the more on the situation of some criminal cases the initiation and instrumentation of which it has substantially contributed to, SRI Spokesman Sorin Sava told AGERPRES on Friday.
