EBRD maintains 2014, 2015 growth estimates for Romania

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) stood by its estimates of Romania's economic growth in 2014 (2.6 percent) and 2015 (2.8) in a report released on Monday, in which it drastically adjusted down the estimates for its target region.

Last week, the World Bank had announced a 2.9 percent growth forecast for Romania in 2015, following a 2.6 advance in 2014; last year's figure was slightly reviewed down from the October estimate of 2.7 percent.

Also last week, the EBRD had estimated the foreign investments in Romania in 2014 at 592 million euros, up from 508 million euros in 2013, while the number of the projects it has financed in the country went down from 32 in 2012 to 26 last year.
Since its foundation in 1991, the EBRD has invested roughly seven billion euros in 366 projects in Romania, and it syndicated for these more than 14 billion euros from other sources.AGERPRES
