She says her former husband Dorin Cocos asked her to facilitate a meeting both with the former SRI head, George Maior, and with General Florian Coldea, in order to clear certain aspects of the Microsoft case, but she maintains she did not go through with this request.
Elena Udrea claims her former husband, Dorin Cocos, at Mr Coldea's request, paid Sebastian Ghita the amount of 500,000 euros, in cash, for funding the latter's television station, RTV. She also said that she found out that the money was sent to Sebastian Ghita through Alin Cocos, Dorin Cocos's son.
In the same interview, Udrea claimed that in 2013 she intervened for the appointment of Laura Codruta Kovesi as Prosecutor General with the National Anti-corruption Directorate (DNA), by having a conversation in this respect with Prime Minister Victor Ponta, explaining that the PM did not agree with this appointment, which was very much wanted by former president Traian Basescu and also a proposal made by Mr Coldea.
She added that this was her own initiative and that Traian Basescu did not ask her to intervene with the Prime Minister. AGERPRES
