PASOK accuses Parliament president of unprecedented procedural faux pas

Socialist PASOK on Thursday accused new Parliament President Zoi Konstantopoulou of committing an unprecedented institutional misstep during a three-hour press conference she held yesterday.

In a statement, the junior party in the previous coalition government, lashed out at Konstantopoulou for briefing the press - in every minute detail ? over her decisions and future actions, as well as her opinions ? all before briefing the actual Parliament bodies.

PASOK termed her actions as unethical and accused the Parliament president of being ignorant of parliamentary procedures and the constitution.

Finally, PASOK charged that Konstantopoulou is obviously trying to change Parliament's stance on the issue of imprisoned Golden Dawn members.
